In the third year of partnership with us, Daimler will join the re:publica guests and head INTO THE WILD – on a search for new approaches to mobility: does the demand for mobility necessarily equate with the demand for ones own vehicle? In the end, are we as drivers getting rid of ourselves? What role does interconnectedness play in the future of mobility? During the re:think mobility sessions, experts will focus on various impulses with the future of mobility and open-up the discussion.
The Global Innovation Gathering brings together innovation hub managers, makers, hackers and entrepreneurs from across the world. Global Innovation Gathering is taking place for the second time at re:publica 2014 and is being enabled by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). This year, apart from our main GIG partners the AfriLabs network, we are also bringing in members from the AfricaHacktrip, the Founderbus, AfriMakers, iceBauhaus and Impact Hub. If you are interested in learning about global digital innovation, maker cultures, hackspaces, technology and start-up scenes in Africa, Asia, the MENA region and Latin America, visit us at the GIG MakerSpace, the GIG Lounge or come and see our talks on Stage 6 on the last day of re:publica.
It's been a while since we arrived in the digital world. We have entered #Neuland ( or #newground). We experimented. Reflected. And conveyed our lives into networks. As Microsoft we have clipped old roots, have overcome platform boundaries, began to love OpenSource and learned how to design devices. We are Into the Wild indeed, however never had a clearer vision of our future. It is this Wild Way for which we have partnered up with re:publica 14. The exchange of ideas, beliefs and communicative means without any limitation is our paramount aspiration. In various sessions we are going to discuss our vision of connected work, design and eParticipation. Dialogue and the creation of ideas is what drives us to partake and yes, we are ready! #getitdone
