Christian Heise is a Research Associate at the Centre for Digital Cultures (CDC) af­fi­lia­ted to Leu­pha­na Uni­ver­si­ty Lüne­burg, Member of Board of the German Chapter of the Open Knowledge Foundation and Co-Founder of freifunk.net, a non-commercial open initiative to support free radio networks. He is currently doing research on new forms of scholarly communication in the digital age and writing his dissertation on the development of Open Science in Germany. Until 2012 he worked as a Business Development Manager at DIE ZEIT and the German Press Agency (DPA).
