Zara Rahman
Open Development Toolkit Lead

Zara is based in Berlin, after stints in Bangladesh, France, Spain and growing up in the UK. She leads work on the Open Development Toolkit, a joint project from the Open Knowledge Foundation and Development Initiatives which is aimed at increasing data literacy around development data, focused especially on the needs of journalists and civil society in low-income countries. Previously, she worked on transparency and accountability in the extractive industries as OpenOil's first employee, researching governance and contract transparency in Libya during and after the revolution, then joined the Open Knowledge Foundation as their International Community Manager in early 2013.
